Sea lice are common parasites of wild and farmed fish. In some regions and species, notably salmonids in Canada, Norway, Scotland, Ireland and Chile, infestations have resulted in significant disease and economic losses. The goal of the International Sea Lice Conference series and Sea Lice 2010 is to bring together representatives of international research groups and regulatory agencies to foster collaboration and communication on sea lice research and management.

Through the research programs at the University of BC, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, Pacific Biological Station, Institute of Ocean Sciences, Pacific Salmon Forum, and the Centre of Aquatic Health Sciences, BC has become a leader in sea lice research with some of the world’s foremost fisheries and sea lice experts. Join us at Sea Lice 2010 to hear presentations from national and international experts on the latest issues and science, participate in discussions on research status and provide recommendations for the future, and connect and interact with other experts in scientific sessions and social events.
