FOSTERING THE AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY THROUGH SCIENCE, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION (En français)

The aquaculture industry in Canada continues to evolve rapidly. The Aquaculture Association of Canada is a not-for-profit organization that fosters the development of the industry by disseminating technical and scientific information, supporting education initiatives, and encouraging relevant research and development in the public and private sector. We are currently recruiting for the following position.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will lead and manage the Association. Your background includes experience in leading and managing a not-for-profit or non-governmental organization complemented by comprehensive knowledge of various levels of government, and important issues within the aquaculture community. You are an energetic, outgoing team player, and are comfortable responding to a variety of needs including day-to-day management of the Association, business development and liaising with key stakeholders within the aquaculture industry. Your experience and background will enable you to promptly take a leading role in the affairs of the Association. You understand the importance of the Association in fostering the aquaculture industry in Canada and are committed to the identification and provision of enhanced benefits for our members. This position requires a university degree in science or business, at least 5 years of relevant experience and a willingness to work independently from a home-based position. Bilingualism would be considered an asset.

Promouvoir l’industrie aquacole par la science, la recherche et la formation

L’industrie aquacole au Canada continue à évoluer rapidement. L’Association Aquacole du Canada est un organisme à but non-lucratif qui a comme but de promouvoir le développement de l’industrie par la diffusion d’information technique et scientifique, en supportant les initiatives éducatives et de formation, et en encourageant la recherche et le développement relative à l’industrie dans les secteurs publiques et privées. On est présentement en train de recruter pour le poste suivant.

Directeur Général

Responsable au sein du conseil d’administration, vous êtes chargé avec la gestion et la direction de l’Association. Votre formation inclut l’expérience avec la direction et gestion d’un organisme à but non-lucratif ou non-gouvernementale qui est complémenté par une connaissance compréhensive des divers niveaux de gouvernement, et les défis importants faisant face à la communauté aquacole Canadienne. Vous êtes énergétique, ouvert et vous travaillez bien en équipe; vous êtes confortable en répondant aux divers besoins incluant la gestion jour-à-jour de l’Association, le développement d’affaires et la liaison avec les partie-prenantes clés de l’industrie aquacole. Votre expérience et formation vous servira à prendre un rôle important dans la direction des affaires de l’Association sans un délai. Vous comprenez l’importance de l’Association de promouvoir l’industrie aquacole au Canada et vous êtes dédié à l’indentification et la provision des bénéfices augmentés pour nos membres. Cette position requiert un baccalauréat universitaire en sciences ou en commerce (minime), au moins 5 ans d’expérience relative au poste, et une volonté de travailler indépendamment de chez vous. Être bilingue serait considérer comme un atout.
