Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director, Sustainability & Growth will be responsible to lead the development of Grieg Seafood BC’s compliance with regulatory requirements and certifications through respective jurisdictional processes while establishing and negotiating First Nation’s relations and continuing to foster opportunities for growth in the region. Working directly within BC’s Aboriginal communities as well as with local, provincial and federal government partners, the incumbent will develop and implement a range of policies, programs and initiatives to further build respectful and trusting working relationships with all stakeholders. By striving to reach mutually beneficial solutions, you will set the stage to bring all stakeholders’ participation to an elevated, more proactive state with Grieg Seafood BC. The incumbent will also provide leadership in the area of working proactively with media and NGOs in order to have the “Permission to Operate”.

 

The ideal candidate possesses 10-15 years of business experience that is augmented by a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Law and further professional development in negotiations is an asset. In order to effectively and efficiently achieve results with Grieg Seafood BC’s partners, the incumbent will have a successful track record establishing relations and negotiating complex deals with external stakeholder groups which include First Nations, elected officials and senior staff at all levels of government. The successful candidate will have also established integrity and respect among senior leadership within Aboriginal communities.
