The Prince Edward Island Aquaculture Alliance (PEIAA) is a member-based organization that is responsible for facilitating and promoting the commercial development of aquaculture in the province. The PEIAA is seeking a dynamic individual to represent its membership’s best interests and guide the strategic development of the aquaculture industry.

Qualifications

Reporting to the Board of Directors you will be responsible for the leadership and development of the organization; management of PEIAA staff; budgeting; development and maintenance of strong relations with members, associated industries and government; and representing the views and interests of member companies to appropriate forums. The Executive Director of PEIAA involves acting as PEIAA’s key public spokesperson and requires skills and experience with media relations as well as public speaking and presentations.

As the ideal candidate you will have demonstrated experience in public advocacy and government relations. A strong knowledge of the aquaculture industry in Prince Edward Island, the local aquaculture regulatory regime and the business environment in which PEIAA members operate locally would be an asset. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, management experience, skills in customer/member relations, financial/budgeting, be an excellent facilitator and be able to work with a Board of Directors. Familiarity with not-for-profit organization and/or association operations would be an asset.
