SALES REPRESENTATIVE - AQUATIC EQUIPMENT

 

Description:

AQUABIOTECH is a Quebec-based Canadian leader in the design and fabrication of aquatic equipment for doing scientific research on freshwater and marine life. For the past 15 years AQUABIOTECH is committed to developing and delivering highly innovative water recycling systems simulating dynamic (e.g. artificial rivers, tide simulators, cyclic variations in salinity…) or static habitats (stable temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen conditions…) for conducting scientific trials on fish and invertebrates.

 

Our B2C business model is personalized and intended primarily for academic researchers. The company also custom designs land-based viviers for holding live lobster. We maintain close relationships with our clients, and see ourselves simply as “scientists helping scientists to become leaders in their own field”. We are seeking a bright individual (or companies) in Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes or New England, with a passion for aquatic science and aquaculture, successful experience is sales, and a network of aquaculture-related contacts in Canada and/or New-England.

 

Duties
• Develop a targeted and tailored sales plan for your territory
• Identify potential new clients and convert these leads to customers
• Meet or exceed territory sales plans through in-depth product knowledge, familiarity of market segments and sales skills to convert qualified leads to sales.
• Meet with clients, make presentations, evaluate equipment needs
• Prepare tenders in collaboration with the technical team
• Generate regular sales and prospects reports to the company
• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships
• Troubleshoot and follow through with prompt solutions to all customer inquiries.

Requirements
• B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in aquaculture or aquatic/marine biology. A diploma in aquaculture with hands-on aquaculture experience is acceptable.
• Successful sales experience in manufacturing, technical or scientific products
• Bilingual (English/French) speaking and writing. A perfect knowledge of English is a priority and none negotiable.
• Familiar with a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Hands on aquatic lab or relevant aquaculture experience.
• Highly motivated and can work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team in a quality-oriented fashion.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
• Able to travel up to 35% of the time.

Conditions

This is a contractual position based on commissions and annual bonus. A base salary is negotiable. No salary ceiling. If you live in an area of many research institutions, this is an opportunity to work from your home. A studio based on the workplace will be at your disposal for training periods and meetings. You’ll be meeting highly motivated colleagues in a science-oriented and creative environment.
